About Me

HAVING started out as an insurance claims loss advisor, Kevan McGregor says he got tired of every day meeting people who generally were in a bad mood due to having suffered loss, and who often felt that Kevan had come to see them to reduce their claim. So it was with a smile and more spring in his step that he entered the world of real estate a decade or so ago, when he joined Rawsons. Kevan spent two years there from 2014, then moved to Just Letting as a letting agent. In 2017, he became a prop erty practitioner at the Durban beach brand of Wakefields. He joined the Dormehl Phalane Musgrave branch in 2020, enabling him to work in an area with which he was a lot more familiar, and saw the brand as one he could trust and grow with. “Our branch has a very happy, fun-loving bunch of people who all get along. I also have a healthy respect for our manager, Gordon Swensson,” he says, adding that “work hard and enjoy life” is his motto in life. Kevan, who lists his strengths as “friendliness, reliability, honesty and being a people’s person”, says one of his most memorable moments in real estate was when he met a very difficult tenant who would only allow half-an-hour to put the property owner’s property on show. “As it turned out, I sold the property for R1,8m cash,” he recalls with a smile. A former hockey-player, Kevan is sports mad and loves the outdoors. He is married to Veronica, a nursing sister, and has a married daughter.
