Vanderbijlpark to expect a multi-billion Rand development

Situated on the banks of the Vaal River, and neighbouring the towns of Sasolburg and Vereeniging, lies the transforming town of Vanderbijlpark. Although it is labelled as an industrial area, recent changes have opened up a new chapter in its development that will see Vanderbijlpark emerge as a key player in the South African residential property market.

Supporting a tight knit-community of approximately 95 840 inhabitants, the town was built on the strength of its industrial sector. Today, Vanderbijlpark is diversifying its economy by attracting new types of businesses and demographics, and creating more job opportunities.

The Vaal River City will extend towards the upper end of Vanderbijlpark and it is expected to rejuvenate the local economy and boost tourism in the area. Over and above this, it will symbolise the town’s progression towards a more modern way of life.

Furthermore, the development will mirror modern cities around the world that are also located on the water’s edge. Residence and visitors will be immersed in sweeping and panoramic views of the river, and they will have access to a range of amenities. These include: 60000 sqm for leisure, retail and hospitality, more than 400 000 sqm of commercial office space, 20 hectares for parklands and a bird sanctuary, and 5000 residential units.
